Watch this!

My favourite versions of 'Cry me a river' were Julie London's and the deep sexy trancelike beat of Illumination..that is, until I came across this gem.

Its the je ne sais quoi

Every now and then I come across a girly book that I enjoy reading...a fun light how-to guide that celebrates being a woman and all the little nuances that come with it ...Over the years my bookshelves get stocked with the books I label as my 'guilty pleasures'..nothing too serious or literary..just delving and escaping into some good old fashioned candy pink fluff...good quality chick lit...'Bergdorf Blondes' comes to mind as I write, interesting how-to's, the ubiquitous Camilla Mortons 'How to walk in high heels and A girl for all seasons' your basic tips here and there..basically a good read to spend my afternoons unwinding.
Given my firm belief that in another life I must have been born a Parisian, in 2005 I bought 'Entre nous..A womans guide to finding her Inner French'...the fact that Im posting this now is because shes coming out with a sequel this fall that I am looking forward to reading...anyhow, this one stood out because its the one book that I will pass on to my daughter one day..a deliciously compelling read.

Enjoy your Friday xx

Bronze Goddess

Soleil de tan Chanel

So my last post got this fun discussion going with Tweenkie Belle and Fabulous Babe (my nick for her) about bronzers..I wanted to post this new must-have face bronzer that was released in the States a few weeks ago and is already sold out...I saw it with my sis and loved the sheer colours that can range from a peachy tint to a full on sunkissed glow. Worry not, the range will be released in Europe next month and should definitely hit our shores after that or around the same time.

The Body Shops Body and Leg Shine

Michael Kors Classic Leg Shine

In terms of a tan whatever you choose the nicest thing you can do to it is make it subtly glow. A few years ago I found this delicious scented stick from Michael Kors that worked like magic..over a tan it highlights and gives a really pretty sheen on areas like legs, collarbone and top of arms. I ran out and I found an amazing replacement in the Body Shops stick...its stunning...they also have a tube of this liquid molten gold called Shimmer Sun that glides on for more of an impact anywhere including reminded me of Scott Barnes Body Bling which works creative magic if youre looking for a deeper shimmer.
If youre on the beach this summer take a bottle of Nars Monoi Oil Body Glow that works beautifully over tanned skin to give a really sexy sheen. You dont want the oil to fry your skin so don't forget the sunscreen.

Sweet Dreams xx

Two Lovers

Released a couple of weeks ago and cited as apparently being the last film Joaquin Phoenix stars in, comes a story of "the eternal and vexing conflict a man can feel over pursuing a bewitching, sexually fascinating neurotic and choosing a good, attractive but less mysterious woman who's the more sensible partner". Gwyneth Paltrow has been a personal favourite of mine since Great Expectations and Sliding doors and Im anticipating this to be a really thought provoking flick.

Speaking of deep films...I saw Penelope Cruz and Sir Ben Kingsley star in incredibly fascinating and thought provoking movie..showcasing "the passionate relationship between a celebrated college professor and a young woman whose beauty both ravishes and destabilizes him"...her self assuredness and deeply observant direction as well as her vulnerability really should earn her another Oscar nomination after her fantastic job in Vicky Cristina Barcelona..I felt like I was intruding on something so personal and so juvenile at the same time, like a person caught in the middle of a couples moment in public and doesnt know what to do with that...or where to turn your head..I have to say it won't appeal to everybody, but I relished seeing a movie that spoke to me about the human psyche in so many different layers.

In my hallucination
I saw my beloved's flower garden
In my vertigo, in my dizziness
In my drunken haze
Whirling and dancing like a spinning wheel
I saw myself as the source of existence

I was there in the beginning
And I was the spirit of love
Now I am sober
There is only the hangover
And the memory of love
And only the sorrow

Oh sweet bitterness
I will soothe you and heal you
I will bring you roses
I, too, have been covered with thorns...

Mystical poetry is interpreted in so many ways..I placed an abridged version here and Madonna reads the whole version so beautifully...Id like to see what everybody elses take on this is..My interpretation is in the title :)
