On Bubbly and Joie de Vivre

Summer rolled by this year, rolled by in a thick blanket of heat and humidity. The stickiness in the air did nothing to elude the happy intentions of carefree days to come. Nothing could stifle the determined spirits of joviality. This was a summer to be remembered.
As Spain won the world cup and the frenzied crowds rallied in the Parisian streets with congratulatory bursts of song and dance, flags fluttering out of car windows and painted faces grinning cheerfully at each other, I strolled down an unnamed avenue taking in the festive atmosphere whilst a part of my mind was locked away from all forms of communication.
As I glanced up and saw the twinkling lights of the Eiffel tower in the distance, my eyes blinked back looking but not seeing and absentmindedly noted how regal it presented itself in the skyline, even from that far away. From the myriad thoughts that collided in my head, a quiet one beckoned to make me realize that Paris is not a city you discover..it discovers you.
It seems fitting I believe that the next metamorphosis in my life would be a shift to my spiritual roots. As I sit here I think about the journey that I am about to partake. I am excited and had it been any other place in the world I might have been apprehensive. The human spirit is akin to a fine wine, in order to mature and evolve into its different layers and subtle nuances it must be developed slowly over time at its optimal environment. One that cultivates and brings out its best.
As a free spirit whose headstrong nature always reigned over practicality, I find it seductive in a way, to finally live that life of leisure that I've always dreamed about. To take time to discover how I can work and socialize and relax and rediscover who I am in a setting where passion for what you do, what you believe in and passion for your life, is the uncompromising norm.

I wish you all a blessed Ramadan.

Love always,
Your PC x
